Turning point: My Happy Place.
Haha today I realised that I've never shared about my happy place before. In case ya'll don't know, the happy place is the one you can picture in your mind and go to to feel at peace and maybe calm down. Learnt this in yoga class back in junior college where I unfortunately fell asleep upon imagining my happy place haha. That's how powerful the effects of my happy place are LOL. Every time I close my eyes and imagine, I see rolling hills (not high ones mind you, rolling undulating foothills that type) of long grass and flowers with thin stems swaying in the breeze. The sky is just THAT perfect shade of blue, not the sky blue kind but darker and with a few stray, fraying white clouds stretching across. The sun is shining and bathing the place with warmth but then it's not hot or humid and there is a slight blowing of a chilly wind that just caresses the skin and doesn't hit the bones. Every breath of air smells of warm, crisp grass and the musky scent of flowers - the scent that hits you when you smush your nose into the centre of a flower. I'm propped up on a pillow, just laying on a soft picnic mat laid on the grass and perched in my hand is a glass of ice-cold lemonade - diluted and sweet with just a touch of sour, not the kind that lingers at the back of the throat but goes smoothly down. I am alone but somehow that makes me happy, I can just absorb the sights, sounds, tastes and touches in full undistracted...Yup that's my happy place, the one I can retreat to in my mind everytime I can't sleep, or I'm on a long car/train journey :) But unfortunately the results are dire and I always end up sleeping awkwardly and suddenly with my mouth wide open and drooling at times hahaha. I went there today, so glad I did. It made me realise I've been too down lately, and there doesn't seem a point to be as it doesn't and hasn't solved anything. So yes cheers to a turning point yay~! :)
