"To love would be an awfully big adventure"

i woke up today with the song "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" inexplicably playing in my head. For some reason, it pisses me off. Haha. The whole song is somehow just sad. First it says how to be different is to be scorned upon, and how you should be sad cos you're different. And the only thing that can change things is when someone realises the value in your difference and your total worth i.e. santa saying how rudolph can guide the sleigh with his red nose. So all in all, the song suggests that you alone cannot see your worth; you are unworthy until someone comes along and deems that you are of value, that gives you a function in society and in doing so, gives you your person. Is this far from the truth? To an extent I think not, thats why I feel the song is just a sad hint at how things are. Maybe that's why though it's the song I sing the most at christmas (cos it's played to death in stores/shopping centres/tv/radio etc.) it feels kinda grating. There, finally got it off my chest *phew* #wordvomit
